Technoblade Popular Minecraft Creator Dies From Cancer At 23

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade, a top YouTube creator who specialized in Minecraft let's-play videos, has died a year after he revealed a cancer diagnosis, according to a statement from his family. He was 23.



Technoblade's YouTube channel shared an emotional YouTube video in which the YouTuber's father revealed that his son had died. His father said, "He was the most incredible kid anyone could ever wish for." "I miss Technoblade."



The video uploaded Thursday, titled "so long nerds," included a posthumous message from the creator to his fans, which was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. Technoblade's message stated that he was dead and revealed his real name as Alex. From Technoblade's earliest online days, he was always strategizing ways to delight and reward his audience. The statement continued, "This past year has had a lot of rough spots for our son as he battled stage four cancer. But he didn’t complain and continued to use the strategic mind he had to win against what he knew were impossible odds. My son's bravery on the path was a shining lesson for all of us who were privileged enough to be there. I am grateful for sharing my son's journey. He did the work he loved because it was for his beloved fans.



According to his dad, Technoblade sent his final message of condolences to his fans around eight hours before his death. "I don't think he said everything he wanted to say, but I think he got the main points," his father said.
