It Also Has Its Critical Downside

Artillery, formerly known as the Mortar, is a ground-based splash-damage tower that launches explosive projectiles over a large radius. It has a large range, enabling it to attack enemies from far, but since its shells have a travel time, fast enemies may be able to avoid getting damaged from it, however its very large explosion radius can compensate this.

This tower is a really good crowd control tower, especially with perks even if the dps is reduced. Indeed it has one of, if not the biggest explosion radius in the game. It is basically an ultimate upgrade of Blaster. However past its own era, it is heavily hindered by Plasmerizer and special towers as they boast far higher dps. It also has its critical downside, that being having large placement size. It doesn't benefit in some maps and even in some cases, Pirate may even perform better as a cheaper crowd control tower and an alternate source of cash.

This tower has a placement limit of 4.

Due to the Artillery being a Modern Age tower, its starting cost and upgrade prices are increased by 90% in the Stone Age, 60% in the Medieval Age, and 30% in the Renaissance Age only when there are at least two players in the match.

Tactics Select maps with large amount of space such as Sugarland to allow yourself getting more Artilleries. However take note that it has a placement limit of 4. Use the Nuke perk to compensate with this penalty. This tower is very powerful for mass crowd control as its explosion radius is gargantuan, making it an excellent choice for crowd control in PVP. If your teammate has Breaker however, Artillery should be replaced as Breaker can control the crowd by itself without trouble. Artillery has one of the biggest range excluding god towers, having the range being approximately half of the range of god towers. This allows it to attack enemies from a massive distant range. Only get Artillery when you have the cash to afford level 4 or 5 Artillery. This is due to Artillery lacking power on level 1 to 3. Artillery is a great choice for a crowd control tower in PVP. Due to the massive amount of enemies being spawned, this directly works towards Artillery's strength. However if your loadout lacks of firepower as well, Plasmerizer, Breaker and Tesla Coil are better choices. If you're going to buy any perk for Artillery, Nuke perk is your best bet due to no penalty for the perk usage and the ability allows for instant damage with mass crowd control power. However if you're not skilled in using the ability constantly, either Crater Creator or Bombardment perks will work. Trivia Artilleries are portable, light-weighted weapons that launch explosive shells. Artillery were commonly used in World War 1. The Artillery used to have an ability called "Nuke" that does around 200 damage per blast. The ability was removed in the 12/29/20 update but was later re-added back as a perk. The Artillery used to be a cliff tower and being called Mortar, this was changed possibly for more original towers as several other Tower Defense games in Roblox involves towers name Mortar as well. There are still towers those use artilleries or shares similar names to the Evolution Evade Artillery like Level 4 Rocketeer from Tower Defense Simulator, Artillerist from Arena Tower Defense, etc. The Artillery used to lose hidden detection when upgraded to level 5. This was the only tower in the game to have an upgrade which takes away Hidden Detection. However, the current version of Artillery remains its hidden detection on level 5. Update History (12/29/20) Mortar remodeled and renamed to Artillery. Artillery placement has been moved from cliff → ground. It also received a placement limit of 4. Level 3 damage decreased from 32 → 18. Level 4 damage decreased from 42 → 28 Level 5 damage decreased from 62 → 50. Titan Launcher For Mc Nuke ability is also removed. (4/9/20) Artillery received a buff from levels 4-5. Level 4 damage increased from 28 → 50. Level 4 fire rate decreased from 20 → 17. Level 5 damage increased from 50 → 90. Level 5 fire rate decreased from 22 → 20. (11/1/21) Artillery now has hidden detection re-added at level 5.
