Short answer: No, It won't matter what you do.



The amount you spend and the total cost will vary depending on the services you require. Liberty is not free There are generally two options if the server is to run 24/7 and you don’t want to use your PC.



You can rent a server from a server host for a few bucks per monthly to 10 to 15 dollars per month, depending on what you need. This is the cheapest, but it will be more expensive in the end.



You buy a small PC, something like a raspberry Pi with some extra hardware modules and set it up yourself. You will need to set it up manually and cost around 80-100 dollars. After that, there should be no additional cost. (Hardware may break, but let's not worry about that for now.



Now, if you want to keep running it from your PC you could invest in a wired connection to stabilize connection and reduce lag. This will require you to purchase cables and set it up.
